Terms of Use

These Terms govern your use of Baby Coding (the "App") and the website at baby-coding.manolus.com (the "Site"). By downloading, installing or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. Use of the App

Baby Coding is a macOS menu bar application that observes decision prompts from coding assistants and lets you answer them with hand gestures and voice. It is available for personal and commercial use. You may install it on any number of machines you own or operate.

2. License

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a non exclusive, non transferable, revocable license to use the App. The App is licensed, not sold. We retain all intellectual property rights in it.

You may not:

• Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the App
• Sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the App in any form
• Remove or alter any proprietary notice, branding or signature
• Use the App to develop a competing product
• Use the App in violation of any applicable law

3. Camera, microphone and your responsibility

The App requires camera, microphone and speech recognition permissions to work. It turns the camera on only while a decision is pending, and turns it off right after. All gesture recognition and speech transcription happen on your Mac.

You remain responsible for every action you approve. A gesture is an input method, not a review. Confirm what the panel shows before you approve it, the same way you would before pressing a key.

4. Denylist and dangerous commands

The App keeps a denylist of dangerous patterns that a gesture can never auto approve. Those requests fall through to the assistant own dialog, where you answer deliberately with the keyboard. The denylist reduces risk but cannot eliminate it, and it is not a substitute for reading what you approve.

5. Automatic updates

The App ships with auto update functionality. Every update is verified against an EdDSA cryptographic signature before installation. In the event of a critical security vulnerability, an update may be marked as required, and the App will request installation before continuing to function.

6. Privacy

Your use of the App and Site is also subject to our Privacy Policy. In short: no video, audio or transcript ever leaves your Mac. Crash reports and anonymous install and open counts are required and carry no personal data. Optional usage analytics are off until you turn them on. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.

7. Third party services

The App contacts our update server to check for new versions, and sends crash reports and analytics as described in the Privacy Policy. It does not use an API key or the Anthropic API, and it never transmits the content of your code, prompts or terminal.

8. Disclaimer of warranty

THE APP AND SITE ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON INFRINGEMENT.

Gesture and speech recognition are probabilistic. Baby Coding can misread a gesture or a spoken phrase. You accept that risk when you use it to approve actions.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE PUBLISHERS OF Baby Coding BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP OR SITE, INCLUDING ANY ACTION APPROVED THROUGH A GESTURE OR VOICE COMMAND.

10. Beta status

The App is provided in beta. Features may be added, modified or removed without prior notice. Use it at your own discretion.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page changes when we do. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Brazil. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the App will be resolved in the courts of São Paulo, Brazil.
